Susan Shacter is a lifelong New Yorker whose photographs of actors, writers, musicians, film directors, art world figures, politicians, and high powered business executives have been published in The Sunday Times Magazine (UK), In Style, Graphis, Vibe, Bomb, Glamour, Elle (UK and American editions), Seventeen, Esquire, Interview, Black Book, Newsweek, Forbes, Fortune, Entertainment Weekly and Vanity Fair.

 

She has shot covers for numerous publication, including Entertainment Weekly, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, Forbes, Fortune, British Cosmopolitan, Harpers & Queen, Grazia, Bomb and G.Q.

 

She has done posters and special shoots for many major motion picture studios; and cover art for some of the major music labels.

 

Shacter began her career shooting fashion pictures for GQ, New York Magazine, Harpers & Queen, Tatler, British, German and Spanish Vogues, L’Uomo Vogue, Linea Italiana, Amica, Grazia, and Giorgio Armani.

 

Her 20″ X 24″ Polaroid prints have been exhibited at Emporio Armani in New York City. Other work has been included in group shows at The International Center of Photography, NYC; Staley Wise Gallery, NYC; Feigen Contemporary, NYC; The Forbes Gallery, NYC; Soho Photo, NYC; The Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn, NY.

 

Her book of black and white portraits Caught In The Act: New York Actors Face To Face, a collaboration with the writer Don Shewey, was published by New American Library.
